Save the South Hills

I love Santa Clara as it is now, but realize that it will continue to grow. Lets keep the city with single housing and businesses that will benefit everyone, not a few.

Too much traffic. too commercial, and too much congestion for the planned area! This is too big of a gate to open at this time!

There's a reason people love the feel of an enjoyable small town atmosphere/environment that makes Santa Clara what it is. Do we really want to mess with the special uniqueness of this valley? Once it's gone, it's gone forever!

Changes the current plan and increases density and traffic to the area. It make the area more transient.

This project will increase traffic on Santa Clara Drive. The studies/projections show Santa Clara Drive can handle more traffic. But it can't do this and maintain the small town feel we currently have. Even extending Chapel Street and building a causeway over the river, just circumvents the traffic for a few blocks. Until the Southern Corridor Highway is built, I don't think this development should go in.

I hope the City Council does not approve this zoning change. The density of the project is out of balance with the surrounding residential property.

i am against this and also low income housing project that I have heard is proposed for the east end of town. We don't need this kind of growth.

Please don't ruin my hometown.

Based on what I have heard and read this type of development does not make since and does not fit Santa Clara's master plan. Looks like a good idea but not for this location.

The people in Santa Clara did not move here because they were looking for a resort town, they were looking for a quiet farm town without a lot of traffic. Don't change Santa Clara forever by changing the zoning. Listen to the people. We do not want this!

May 23, 2016 Don't rezone please ! We need to keep small town charm .  

Please maintain the small town atmosphere that everyone has grown to love.

We chose to make Santa Clara our home because of the quiet, gentle, small town charm. We purchased a home here and have made our life in this unique and family-friendly community. To change the character of a town for monetary gains strikes me as self-serving. Isn't it possible to find a new area that is not populated already? Build a resort there instead! If people choose to purchase homes around that resort, they will go into it with their eyes open. The residents of Santa Clara will be forced into a change that we do no welcome, if the proposal is accepted. I'm hopeful that City Council will listen to the citizens of this community and consider the impact this will have on the people that work, live, play, worship, and raise their families right here.

Don't rezone please

This zone change may help the city's funds, but it will be horrible for the reputation of Santa Clara as a small, quaint and family-oriented town, not to mention the traffic increase and danger to our city's children and adult pedestrians.

Absolutely not! Santa Clara has always had a small town feel this would change that forever. It would open a door that needs to stay shut.

Please don't let this happen,Santa Clara will never be the same.

I am very concerned about the impact that this proposed ordinance change will affect the way we live in this area. Not only the increased traffic congestion for a small area but the impact on the wildlife and natural resources of this area. Wildlife are diminishing and are being pushed further and further out. With these type of vacation rentals we will see increased devastation of our natural resources, and with the proposed forty acre recreational area being developed more resources by the City will be required, such as Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, facilities managment and recreational manaGenentech. I urge the City of Santa Clara to reconsider this proposed changed.
