Save the South Hills

I object to this proposal. Please listen to the voices of those who were born and raised in this town.

I was born and raised in Santa Clara. I love this place with all my heart. Please don't ruin this beautiful place to live.

I hope our elected officials will listen to the people who elected them.

We need equestrian estates. Half to one acre in size. Not more rentals. Let's keep Santa Clara from becoming another St George.

Conserve what we love. Keep the big city ideas out of our hometown 'Merica.

Keep Santa Clara the way it is. We already got slides with another nightly rental that passed under the citizens not knowing, we cannot let this happen again!

I grew up in Santa Clara and now have chosen to raise my family here. Santa Clara is an ideal place to live and raise a family. I know that there will be more growth, and we will not be able to change that as it truly is a desired place to live. But please do not let this pass!! Lets keep with Santa Clara being family oriented and the growth as single family dwellings that bring the community closer and not the continued influx of strangers that really won't care about this community and everything that makes it great!!

I grew up in Santa Clara and hope this doesn't happen. I understand people's need for growth and money, but sometimes less is more and this, to me, is one of those times. Vote and say no to this. Keep this beautiful community beautiful, safe, and warm!

Would rather keep Santa Clara's "hometown feeling." I also have concerns about blue clay. I can't imagine there is not blue clay and if one of these proposed buildings developed a crack or tumbled, I suspect somehow that we the citizens of SC would have to pay.

Please keep Santa Clara the way that it was meant to be. a Charming Community, with Family's and Friends, a community that cares about their neighbors . It is quiet and peaceful here .that is why we came. Please keep Santa Clara wonderful place to be. keep the hills free form vacation rentals, town homes, apartments, condos etc. Let it continue to be zoned R110, a Residential community for the people..

I am opposed to this proposal. Do we want to sacrifice every inch of our city to commerce or habitation?

I am strongly opposed to the proposed zoning change from R-1-10/RA to a planned development residential (proposed vacation rental resort and construction of a secondary access road from Chapel St.

In looking for a place to live and raise our family, we chose Santa Clara because of what it is now, not what someone else wants it to become tomorrow. The beauty of the tree lined road through town and peacefulness one feels driving back "home" provides a separation from the busy "town" feel not too far distant....let's not destroy that by alternating those qualities that makes Santa Clara unique in Washington County.

While some development is understandable, development of the magnitude proposed will ruin the very seat of the charm that has made Santa Clara the beautiful and serene place that it is. If you want to get a realistic idea of what Main Street in Santa Clara will look like with this level of development so close to it, take a trip to Park City. Look at what has become of the landscape between Summit Park, The Pine Brook/Elk Meadows/Jeremy Ranch area, Kimball Junction and then State Highway 224 from Kimball Junction into Park City. Is this really what you want for Santa Clara? Closer to home, look at what has been happening in Springdale. I could name dozens of other places where too much development too close to a premium location has forever destroyed the very source of attraction. (This is somewhat like building an outhouse next to your water well.) Allowing further development of the South Hills will destroy everything that has made Santa Clara what it is today. No doubt about it, the Main Street charm will disappear and will be replaced with empty store fronts because the heavy traffic makes access impossible. Because of physical space restraints, parking would require multilevel parking structures. A multi-level parking structure right next to the Park City Police Department has been a serious hideout for crime since the day it was built 30 years ago. While development and growth is a good thing where there is room to do so, it is not healthy for the entire region to fill every beautiful space with buildings, roads and people. If you limit the South Hills to residential only and keep the higher density commercial applications to more appropriate locations, the Main Street infrastructure will survive and thrive intact. The time to be ultra conservative as you plan for the future is NOW. To old friends and acquaintances who may have a financial stake in this proposed development, I make no apologies. Please keep single housing. Do not hurt the look and feel of Santa Clara.

There are so many other areas they can that would be a better fit for this kind of development. WHy here? SC is a quiet bedroom community, that is why we chose to live here. Don't let GREED destroy this. Our Councilmen shouldn't have even allowed this to be a option.

PLEASE, DO NOT LET THIS GO THRU!!! THESE PROPOSALS IF PASSED, WILL ABSOLUTELY RUIN OUR TOWN!!! STOP THIS!! SEND THOSE DEVELOPERS UP TO CEDAR!!!

Let's keep Santa Clara pure and tranquil for its serenity it has always had!!!!!!!
