As an employee at the Department of Energy I spend many days a year enjoying the gardens and watching the many tourists enjoy it as well. I have witnessed weddings and engagements in the beautiful space. In this world we live in that in so many ways can be sad and ugly, please don't ruin one of the most peaceful places in the city!

I absolutely love this garden. There is nothing better than to sit there and enjoy its beauty. I really hope the Smithsonian preserves it for the enjoyment of the local people.

This garden is beautiful part of the mall, actually I would say the most beautiful garden on the mall. Please do not destroy. This is a perfect compliment to the castle, the new development is not at all. There must be other options to consider.

This spot is a truly unique and beautiful oasis -- that provides a lovely, tranquil addition to the other mall spaces. I hope that the garden can be preserved or restored in its current form. I'm a native of DC, and this has long been one of my favorite downtown spaces.
