This garden is a gem, a refuge, that I have enjoyed for years. Obviously I'm not alone. Its layout and plant selections are the perfect complement to the Smithsonian's Victorian splendor. Surely there are better uses for the money it would cost to replace this wonderful Haupt garden.

This is one of my favorite places in DC, and I visit it frequently for both its beauty and its respite from the bustle of DC. This beautiful oasis is an essential part of both DC and the Smithsonian. Please don't destroy it!

It would be irresponsible of the Smithsonian to destroy a well-designed garden that is in context with its adjacent historic buildings and replace it with the proposed "futuristic design" that relates to nothing!
