The Castle MUST be restored, and the Quad roof repaired. Put the garden back as Mrs. Haupt wished it to be. That's it.

The garden is a beautiful, restful oasis on the National Mall - and the Renwick Gate was part of Renwick's vision for the Castle. They should be preserved as is. Invest the money in renovating the Castle instead.

The proposed plan is a huge mistake, will destroy a national treasure with a "Jetsonlike" monstrosity, and is nothing more than vanity-driven tax deduction.

I'm a Maryland native and finally got to visit this 2 weeks ago, why would they want to get rid of such a beautiful area? Just keep building underground if you must!

These gardens allow to show off the Smithsonian castle to best effect. Changing the layout or the gardens would reduce the visibility of this iconic castle from the street and be huge blight on the otherwise sound administration of this landmark institution.
