The Enid Haupt Garden is extraordinary. It is beautiful and well maintained for all seasons. I have never seen the saucer magnolia blooming as beatifully as they have this spring. Please keep it as it is now and do not disturb the plantings. So many people enjoy this treasure.

The idea is horrible. Currently the area is very enjoyable to walk, and the garden invites relaxation and beckons people to gather there, tomeet friends, read, enjoy lunch, ormarvel at the beauty of the gardens. Please reconsider what you are planning!

I love the gardens around the Smithsonian. I live in the neighborhood. I donate to the Smithsonian every year in part because of the gardens. I respect the need for updates and I like modern design very much but the design shown does not match the surroundings at all. Nor does it seem anywhere near as welcoming and tranquil. Please don't "fix" the one part that isn't broken. Thank you.
