This is a unique garden for all who visit the Smithsonian to enjoy. It would be a great loss.

This garden is unique in Washington and a prize gem on the mall. The mall is changing with the times, but tampering with the Castle and the Haupt Gardens is senseless. The Smithsonian must pay closer attention to the Castle itself and work WITH the Castle and these gardens. I personally cannot imagine anything more beautiful than these gardens on this particular site. Both the Castle and the gardens are important elements of the european heritage of our nation and our culture, irreplaceable elements.

When the 2 underground museums were built, we were promised that the garden would remain intact. The Smithsonian should stick to its word
