I first discovered the Enid Haupt Garden when I was a young teenager exploring the Smithsonian. It was unexpected and magical, and I have returned many times since.

I was just at the EH Garden the other day and once again enjoyed the peace and quiet of the space. I don't even know why thoughts of major alternations or destruction are on the table. I like the garden, the entrances to the underground museums, and the museums themselves just as they are.

So many feds use that space as a spot for meditation or a calm place to take a walk and clear their heads. Please don't take that away from us!! It's so lovely!!

Not every thing new should be modern. Those gardens are historic and transition guests from the present into the museums collections. Leave it as is was meant to be, a haven.

The Enid Haupt Garden is my favorite place on the National Mall! I always bring out-of-town guests to enjoys the delights of this garden, and they're gobsmacked by its beauty. Please save the garden!

I lived in DC for many years and continue as a member of the Smithsonian even now that I live out of state. When I return to visit this garden is one of the highlights. It is a national treasure. Please preserve it.

The garden is one of the only peaceful spaces on the mall---especially during the busy spring and summer tourist seasons. It would be more than unfortunate to lose it.

The Smithsonian is always screaming for more money . Why don't you spend it wisely? A terrible mess for many years for no good reason.

We need to be doing everything we can to preserve these special gems. Once destroyed we can't get them back and they are worthy of our caretaking.

DC needs the calm green space of the Enid Haupt Garden. Please do restore and renovate the Smithsonian Castle. Make sure access is available for everyone, and add the office space. But don't destroy the garden.
