Why would anyone want to participate in the destruction of the few oasis of beauty still existing in an overdeveloped once beautiful museum "row" It defies rational sense.

Surely a better use can be found for the proposed two billion dollar "improvement" of the Smithsonian Castle and the surrounding garden. This is an appalling and needless plan which needs to be cancelled asap!

destroyed my depraved people in
the middle east, eliminating their
history, and those here are attempting to do so by trying to
convince we US Americans that "new-innovative" are to best for our
heritage. We owe it to our destiny
to retain, maintain and cherish our
history in all its forms.

This would be a great loss to washington DC if it is closed. I am a native Washingrtonian. This is one of the many things that makes Washington such a wonderful city to live in and visit.

The Enid Haupt Garden is one of the nation's most inspiring, haunting, and beautiful gardens. It would be beyond tragic to replace it with a contemporary effort. Preserve this, please.

There is less and less green and open space as every interest group gobbles up land. The mall is quickly resembling a concrete mess. Please stop tinkering with the small slice of tranquilly and repose left in what is still the heart of the Mall.

Bad idea. The lack of intitutionsl commercialism is one of the real beauties of the mall. Dont change it.

The Enid Haupt Garden is in the top 5 of places I always take out-of-town visitors. It's the go-to place for myself in the city for an experience of sanity, calm, and genuine, unaffected loveliness. Washington DC at its finest. Surprising and unsurpassed. Please don't change what changes seasonally and perfectly already by design. Thank you!

Destroying the Enid Haupt Garden would be a major sin. In fact, the entire "South Mall Campus Master Plan" is completely out of character for the mall. It reminds me of the Corcoran Gallery's proposed Frank Ghery addition, which, fortunately, met the same fate this plan should.
