Save the Smithsonian's Enid Haupt Garden!

It would be a tragedy to lose this beautiful, historic garden.

So much of the area is already open plaza. I love this little garden.

Please tell us that this is a belated April Fool's joke. What are they thinking?!?! This jewel needs to be retained as a point of beauty, solace and reflection in an increasingly noisy, congested, overbuilt National Mall.

This is one of the loveliest spots in our whole capital city. Please, please find a way to preserve it!

The Garden is a treasure which must be preserved.

There is no reason there cannot be another solution than demolishing this lovely established garden. We need these gems in DC.

For goodness sakes - how can you get rid of this enchanting garden?

I love modern art and modern style gardens, but the Enid Haupt Garden is perfect for its location and should be preserved.

This garden is one of my favorite places on the mall. I have many fond memories of relaxing here and enjoying the beautiful gardens.

This is one of the most lovely and peaceful places in DC. As a DC resident for over 25 years and a former public art manager for the DC Arts Commission, I strongly urge the Smithsonian to maintain the Edith Hsupt garden. It is a treasure!

I have always loved this garden. It would be such a loss if this were demolished.

Why is it so simple to destroy beauty and organic peaceful surroundings that have been loved since its beginning by all those who have had the opportunity to view.

Please save this garden. This garden is a jewel and historic treasure. No real or imagined benefit of the planned development could possibly offset the very real assets this garden gives us, the tax paying public, everyday.

Please don't fix what isn't broken! This is a stunningly beautiful public space, an iconic garden and building. Together they define "Smithsonian." Please do not destroy this place!

The proposed design which would replace the parterres and other features of the beloved Enid A Haupt garden is wholly inappropriate as a landscape for the 19th century Smithsonian "Castle".

It is a spendid place to stop, sit, talk. No purpose could enhance the beauty and calm it affords. It's a feather in the soujl of the mall. Don't re-purpose this space!
