The Enid Haupt Garden is one of my favorite places in DC. It's a peaceful haven and in the Spring the tulip magnolias are truly magnificent. It would break my heart were this garden to be destroyed.

the gardens are one of the things i come to DC to see... they are irreplaceable! keep the spaces between the bUILDINGS! build your extensions, if really needed, underground. (like they do in in the UK I think)

This Garden is not only a green oasis for workers and a refuge of tranquility and grace, it is a favorite place of grandparents teaching children about art, labyrinths, and organizing scavenger hunts of all kinds. I resent the stupidity of the proposed Master Pan that would obliterate it!

The new design has no place in DC. It's cold and uninviting. The Enid A. Haupt Garden is a jewel and an oasis in the cacophony of DC and should be more highly valued.

As a 30 year resident of DC, I have enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness of the Enid Haupt Garden many times. It compliments the historic landscape of the Smithsonian Castle. It would be a terrible loss to destroy it. Please protect this garden!

This is an oasis of beauty and should not be disturbed. It gives pleasure to everyone who comes upon it - whether on purpose or by accident. We need delightful spaces like this in our nation's capital.

The Haupt Garden (and the adjacent entrances to the Sackler and African Art Museums) are magical places on a human scale in a city with too many arid, monumental spaces. They are enjoyed by residents, workers from nearby offices and tourists every day. Destroying them to create additional space for the Smithsonian would be one of the great architectural crimes of the century.

Leave the Garden as it is. There is absolutely no aesthetic value to the change, and the funds needed to implement it would be better used elsewhere.
