We visited Washington DC last week. We had a wonderful time. One of the nicest treats was walking through this part a number of times. We pictured ourselves with reading a book in this park for hours one our next trip back when would have more time. We hope it will be there when we get back. It is such a nice natural tucked away environment which is a nice contrast to the grand hustle bustle of most of the Mall area.

Grandchildren (five) enjoy the Haupt Garden, always our first stop on "field trips" to the Mall. Beautiful plantings. We do not need more grass & glass.

As a supporter of the Smithsonian Institution, I urge the Institution’s Secretary to re-consider the South Mall Campus Plan so that the Haupt Garden and surrounding architectural and landscape features are retained.

The Haupt garden is a beautiful space. Whenever I visit the adjacent museums, I treasure my opportunity to see the most recent plantings and marvel at the variety and artistry of the whole. Please save it.

Got married in the moon garden thinking it would be always there for us to visit as we do often. Would be so sad to see it demolished. What is the reason?

Please, PLEASE do not destroy this magical garden. It is my beloved sanctuary. A jewel I show off to countless visitors. The magnolias are stunning! Please no more concrete. Preserve this garden.
