We love this garden! Live in the area and visit it on almost every trip to DC. It is a treasure-please do not destroy this garden. It is beautiful in winter and every other season.

The Enid Haupt Garden is a wonderful complement to the beauty of the 19th century deigns by Renwick of the original Smithsonian building which is affectionately called "the Castle". I feel that all of the Visitors to the Smithsonian Instution deserve to see the Garden "as is", as opposed to some modern visitor center that belongs better with a modern building such as the Air and Space Museum or the Hirshhorn Museum. Please do not change the Haupt Garden - put the center somewhere else. Thank you, Diana S Clagett, Docent, Freer and Sackler Galleries.

The garden is a real gem in D.C. All the major cities of Europe have beautiful public gardens, so our capital should also. I walk through or sit there often to get away from the city. Please preserve it.
