This is only DIY venue I've ever been to in L.A. and it was amazing. Please don't shut down this historic place!

Hello, I am Elijah Alamo. I am a son, a student, a hard laboring worker who wishes only to see the honest and well-intended culture of the appropriately named venue live on. Not only is The Smell a safe haven for young adults to hangout and watch a thriving new music scene every weekend, it is also a place of business, employment and entrepreneurship, giving bands with a dream to step into professionalism a real chance to make it big. No this isn't the palladium, or the coliseum where people make tons of money with thousands of followers but it is a platform in which bands can step into that sort of greatness. Please do not shut it down with no effort to at least restabilize or fix whatever impending problem may warrant a demolition. Please give the people a chance to better this historic establishment so all who come, as band or as fan, may resurrect what many wrongfully agree is a dying art. Please do not demolish a haven for the arts and culture of Southern California.

The Smell is an integral part of the LA community. Bringing in the youth of our city harmoniously. Without this establishment many of the disenchanted youth will have no where else to turn.
