The Smell is a very important cultural institute of Los Angeles. It would be an absolute travesty to destroy this essential fixture in the L.A. music scene. Performances there have inspired generation upon generation of musicians and to demolish it would be to demolish a part of Los Angeles's cultural identity.

This, and many other venues, are in danger of being literally leveled in favor of parking lots. I think it's a sad irony when parking is prioritized in order to facilitate access to all the culture a city has to offer, and in turn, that city loses an even larger chunk of it's culture in the process. The Smell is an important place, not only for the local music scene, but also on the national level, as it serves as a good stop for many independently supported groups on national or semi national tours.

The smell is a very important place a creative place that bands and young teenagers can express themselves without having to worry about being judged or belittled for letting their creativity flow.
