I have played shows all around in the world in venues of all styles and sizes. I have played in arenas and at big festivals and I have played at bars and rock clubs, warehouses and backyard. Of all of the places I have played over the past 16 years of touring The Smell remains in my top 3. It is a landmark. It is fun. It is safe. It is accessible. Not only is it a crucial place for the development of youth culture - it is a space where the brown punk kids can go and feel safe and have fun. That may not seem like a big deal but it's a huge deal. What Jim has created here is super important and it should be preserved. Make The Smell a landmark. How can we, the members of the music community that The Smell has helped shape, be there for The Smell? I love this place.
