The Smell is special to every individual thats been there. We all experience something different every time we were there, but equally shared something special. Don't let this be another place to be rememberd.

I someday want to be able to visit the smell, and it is important for creative spaces like this to be around forever for people who go there to express themselves and get away from their everyday lives. I hope this stays around so I can come experience it!

Disappointed in the fact that LA is losing a space like The Smell. Yes, it does mean we have to find ways to rebuild these sort of spaces, to embark on examining what LA is becoming...an abyss of stunted mental growth, what 'well-funded' galleries and institutions cannot provide us- the raw experience that's hidden beneath the cracks, dripping with that inherit pulse necessary for cultures to thrive. What if Amos Vogel never got to create Cinema 16?! On a personal note, I debuted my performative works at The Smell, back in 2007, and they were the only venue (back then) that had ever paid me generously, what was made at the door ......"We are, as a race, aware of certain dangers that surround us. We comprehend that global warming and overcrowding of the planet are real dangers for mankind. We have come to understand that the destruction of the environment is another enormous danger, that resources are being wasted at an extraordinary rate. But I believe that the lack of adequate imagery is a danger of the same magnitude..."

I support local businesses and events. As the culture which is enjoyed by people around the globe visiting LA, we need to preserve such activities and support the progress of locals seeking greater success and a better way of life up the ladder provided here. To celebrate success, lets preserve the availability of startup activities and the popularly enjoyed avenues set already around here. I love LA, so lets preserve it.
