Never knew much about this place but it looks awesome so don't destroy something that is considered awesome.

This venue is one of the few places for the youth of Los Angeles to gather and enjoy themselves while in the safety if the building. The destruction of this venue would be devastating to the youth and the community.

The Smell is one of the most important cultural hubs for underground music in Los Angeles.
It serves not only as a place for local bands to play and for people to see live shows, but also a place for young people to volunteer and gain work experience.
This gives it a truly authentic community oriented feel that is becoming more and more difficult to come by these days in Los Angeles.
I would absolutely consider The Smell to be a cultural landmark that should be preserved at all costs, and urge those threatening the landmark to reconsider the demolition.

I enjoyed many evenings there. It is an important cultural space and should not be demolished.

I am from Switzerland and I've never been to the Smell but as hobby musician I have to say that bands, related to this venue inspired me a lot. It's something they built up by themselves and something that everyone should be proud of. It is dumb to support cars anyway, especially in LA.

I've never been there, but a lot of groups I love and keep me going through life played there, and just building another parking lot is not an excuse to destroy a place where culture has the opportunity to grow. Instead of spending money on parking lots use them for hospitals or schools or other things.
