I played at the Smell back in 2002 and it was a blast. A great space, great people and all around amazing experience. It would be a real shame if the building got demolished.

I think The Smell should stay because its a friendly environment (No drugs/alcohol) where teens can socialize and meet. It is an iconic venue in Los Angeles. Its been around for 18 years it deserves to go on. Its a place where bands get out there and people can hang and enjoy music. This venue gets people put there. To socialize and to get music around. The Smell also makes a good profit out of all the shows they host and food/drinks they sell. This is why I believe The Smell should stay.

I've been going to The Smell for only about a year. I was introduced to it as a performer before a guest. It definitely caught my attention as a drummer because the room is so large and loud. I love playing here, I love attending shows here. I want our community to continue to love DIY spaces such as The Smell that work hard at what they do for bands, attendees and those surrounding.

The Smell is a place that needs to be alive and it needs to be preserved. It's been around for 18 years and it has helped the Music community for a long time. It has also helped the Kids and adults get out and do something. it has helped the arts come out of people and it's helped everyone grow, enjoy, and appreciate the music that people make. Every band matters and every band deserves to get out there and The Smell is the place that can do that.

I lived in South County for three years in high school. I took the train to LA to go to the smell. That place changed my life.

The smell has been part of the DIY music scene for ages. There's many places that have popped up in afterwards and have been influenced and inspired by this historical place but nothing came close to replicating from the raw acts, well known upcoming bands ,to the free spirits that have been brought together through the love of music. The smell has given me so many amazing memories that I'll cherish for years to come I just hope for all it has given me and all who has been affected in this sad time we can return the favor and SAVETHESMELL!!!
