I was around when Jarret, Ara, and Jim, started the Smell as Jabberjaw had closed. It's amazing that it has been an outpost this long, but that means that there is still a need for this venue and it is still culturally viable among generations. It is a showcase for new musical talent, and the only venue keeping shows extremely affordable after two decades. It is also the only all ages venue like this around in the city.
