As a parent of many teens, who are now adults, whom "grew up" in and around "The Smell" I completely support this venue and hope they can continue to keep their business open so youths can learn about and appreciate music!

Please thoughtfully consider the impact of demolishing The Smell, for current and future generations in LA. This unique wonderful space nourishes creative connection and vital expression.

Venues like The Smell are vital to the music scenes around them. Not only has The Smell incubated many influential bands, it has also provided a positive place for young people to gather in the name of the arts. Demolishing this legendary venue to create yet another parking lot is at best unnecessary and at worst civically irresponsible.

I'm not even from LA or America but I love seeing footage online from the smell. This has got to be one of the coolest and safest places I know of.

I didn't move to LA until 2006 when I was already in my 40's, but discovered The Smell just like any Old School Punk would, constantly craving good music. I have only been to a few shows there, in part because I moved to SLC for 6 years, but the shows i saw were good and fun - especially The Warlocks, who blew the lid off The Mother around 2008 or so. I am recently back living in LA and very much want to see The Smell continue to breathe life.

The Smell is and has always been a safe space for bands and fans of all ages, and needs to be able to stay and continue to thrive. My old band played there years back, and I always loved seeing great L.A. bands such as The Sharp Ease there. Going to an all ages club - and they're dwindling in L.A. - means freedom for so many people. #SaveTheSmell
