All-ages venues are super important, and this is perhaps the most important/longest-running all-ages venue on the west coast. Save the Smell!

As a traveling musician of 20+ years, I can say with experience that there is nowhere like The Smell. All-ages, super well organized (thanks to Jim Smith and countless volunteers), this special space has fostered a community in the Los Angeles music scene like none other. A place you can go to hear bands, have a safe space, throw an art show, create lifelong connections. As a former resident of LA, and particularly of the DTLA scene, it breaks my heart to see what is happening to the most vibrant part of your community's soul. SAVE THE SMELL/SAVE ALL AGES ARTISTIC EXPRESSION.

The Smell is a cornerstone of the creative arts scene in Los Angeles. I have been a patron since moving to Downtown nearly 7 years ago. For the sake of the creative community and the culture of Downtown Los Angeles, deny this proposed demolition.

Do not let another parking garage, stupid cement building take away our freedom of art - a place for all ages to play with loads of history and character like no other

The Smell is one of the safest, funnest venues for shows that I have ever been to. It's all about the community and the art and not about the money and the profits. It's a DIY space in its purest form and should be something cherished and protected by the people and city of LA

The Smell should be represented as a cultural landmark and should not be torn down. This place is too important to many people and hold special memories.
