This venue should be treated as an important Los Angeles cultural institution, one that brings youth, life, and music to an otherwise bleak area of the city. It is a community in its own right. I am certain The Smell does more good for the area than any of the initiatives driving its destruction. Surely it would outlive them as well. Please reconsider its removal.

The smell has a whole community of people that will not go unspoken or innable to take action because of these spiteful people/corporation(s). This place is special and calls for a cultural landmark for all it has givin. No matter what, there is thousands of people right behind me willing to do anything for this place. The smell is home to anyone and everyone, including myself and friends.

Why must we demo old buildings? Why must we erase history? Please keep history, we can have amazing history if we just have a sense of history with ourselves.

The Smell is part of the community and culture that created my chosen family. It has continued to foster it and forge new lives and meanings by providing a safe space for artists, musicians, and those that show up. I hope it will always be there to do so.
