The Smell is a valuable part of the Downtown LA Arts community. We need more all-ages, grassroots, community-oriented venues in Los Angeles. Art isn't just for real estate developers with political connections and deep pockets, nor is it mutually exclusive to the privileged and trust-funded. We don't need what happened to Jabberjaw, The Church on York, LA Fort, and countless other Los Angeles start up venues to happen to the Smell!

This is such a vital and needed part of the community. Do it for the kids! Do it for culture! Stop demolishing things that bring so many people joy and stop snuffing out artistry

Now more than ever we need to keep the arts alive. Please do the right thing and keep this building and the good work that is being done there intact.

The Smell is one of the few places in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles that gives young people access to live music at an offardbale price. It also exposes young people to different forms art, literature, film, political beliefs, and cultures. Tearing down The Smell for capital and financial gain not only rips away the youth of something positive and beneficial, but takes away the spirit of the young people the make up the surrounding cities of Los Angeles County.

The Smell is one of the best venues in LA, showcasing great music to all ages. It would be nothing short of tragic if the Smell were to be demolished for what is safe to assume another parking lot.

My SoCal childhood wouldn't be the same without The Smell and what it does for the community of Los Angeles. Without an all ages venue in a prime location, where can yung punx thrive? The Inland Empire? Ew

Lets remember what made LA cool in the first place was places like the Smell. For a city that's thrived because of its important artistic cultural history, developers don't seem to give a damn about it. Without places like this LA is nothing but a
