Removing stautues and memorials will not erase history. Removing these articles will not make up for the past. I am thoroughly irritated by this cancel culture movement. The black people fail to realize they are not slaves anymore and have not been for more than a hundred years. If you are born in the United States of America you are American not African American ... most do not know that the first slave owner was a black man furthermore the africans were sold by their own kind into slavery. If they want reparations for what halpened to their great great great great grandpa maybe they should be looking to the African government. Blacks were not the only people treated poorly. Nobody is standing up for the Native Americans that were sold into slavery, driven from their homelands, forced to live like animals on reservations that was basically land no one else wanted because it was not suitable for farming or ranching. Nobody is raising cain because they were given meager rations and rotten meat to survive. Where is the justice for the Native People of this land? Where are their reparations? Where are the reparations for the Japanese held in concentration camps?

I’m from NJ and love traveling down south to see the monuments. I’m a Latino member of the SCV. The SCV and UDC are about love, history preservation and we are proud of our heritage.
