There is probably a market for venison which is why these deer are being slaughtered - someone will make some money out of their deaths!

This is an appalling approach to these sentient cretures. It was human error in the first place that has caused them to become trapped.

This is unbelievable stuff! You trap deer - not deliberately perhaps but you do. Therefore your responsibiltiy. But you kill them because you made a mistake, an oversight or whatever!

Why, whenever there is a perceived problem involving animals, the first response is to kill them – or, in government and other terminology, ‘cull’ or ‘manage’ them. Why not open a section of the fence and use beaters to drive the deer out to safety.

We fail to understand why, whenever there is a perceived problem involving animals, the first response is to kill them – or, in government and other terminology, ‘cull’ or ‘manage’ them. We are asking you to open a section of the fence and use beaters to drive the deer out.

If they have 3 months to do this then they could take down a section of fence and leave fodder on the outside to encourage the deer out and using some sort of fencing gradually reduce the size of area inside the fence the deer have access to?

Cruel and quite unnecessary. It seems that there are some people who won't be happy until all wildlife has been eradicated from our country.

This is outrageous, cruel and totally unnecessary. The public has had enough of these wildlife "culls".

their natural habitat has been invaded and fenced off. It is wrong, so do the right thing and protect these vulnerable creatures
