I don't want my kids to have to catch two buses to get to school and then get dropped off across the road from the entrance on busy roads. It's far too dangerous. As well as the stress and hassle for my youngest of having to figure out which bus to catch.

It is disappointing that council are more concerned about the economics vs keeping traffic congestion under control let alone keeping children safe.

I use the bus everyday to get into town from ohauiti. It was already packed full of kids the majority of the way, it is loud and disruptive. I shouldn't have to take an early bus to town just to skip the kids, also I would have to wait outside because work isn't open. What happens if ts full and I can't get on,? What would I tell my boss then? Maybe the bus company can pay my wages huh?
Removing school buses is not going to fix the problem.
I don't have kids, but I did grew up taking the school bus every morning and afternoon. It was horrible and packed full. And now you want to squeeze that in to already packed hopper buses.. If you want to make everyone's lives living hell then sure, go ahead. If you do this then you are just going to have to get MORE buses anyway and have them run more often. The only way would be not to remove school buses but swop out school buses to hopper buses assigned specifically to schools so it gets kids safely there. The bus service in Tauranga has never ever been good and now you want to make it even worse.

My son would have to catch 3 busses per the proposal - it takes over twice the current journey time. I've done the journey and it's not practical.

Please do not stop the current school buses. I don't want my child having to change bus at Bayfair. His school bus (313/314) is always full so I cannot see why they want to stop it.

The most ridiculous idea ever getting rid of the safe school buses. I do not want my kids on a public bus trying to cross roads etc to get to school when they are so young.

I can't comprehend the thinking behind this move - it is potentially unsafe for our children and it will increase traffic on already busy and congested roads when parents decide to take children to school in their own cars

Having a deducated school bus is very important. I want my girls to be safe and not exposed to the type of people I myself have encountered on the public bus. The schol bus is somewhere, as parents, we know our kids are safe on their way to and from school. I am happy to pay for this service as i believe it is very important!! I will not be putting them on the public bus, but driving them to school if the school bus is stopped, and so creating more traffic in the morning on our roads!

We teach our children about stranger danger but the TCC don't seem to care if they have children on buses with unknown members of the public. The TCC don't care about our children's safety with making all Mount/Papamoa children having to transfer buses.

I do not think the council have thought through the implications of this!! There are so many but the simplest is less buses more cars on road !!

More are needed not less. Our children need to get to school as quickly and directly as possible. How can you possibly expect a bus driver to ensure the safety of school children dealing with the public as well as driving safely?

My children will have to catch three busses to school with the proposed changes. I did this proposed journey and it took 2 hours to get to school! That was just one way.

Please dont change the bus service. I would not feel safe sending my kids alone on a bus to school where they have to cross a main road and change buses.
