I think the new bus routes that are being suggested are not in the best interest of our public an school children, the buses for our children at this point in time are perfect for the wellbeing of our school children.. please leave it be.

I am concerned with safety, time on the bus, the actual bus route.

Please leave the school buses alone. Think out alternative ways. There are many.

These proposed changes are redicolous! We need to make the bus routes safer for our children not more difficult!!

As a teacher at Aquinas and a dean carrying out bus duty I know how imperative our bus system is AS IT IS. Our students are safe, emotionally and physically on the buses, they are at school on time, and their use of the bus dramatically reduces traffic on the roads. The last change to buses (in this case it was fees) saw a massive increase in students being dropped to school which has meant lines of traffics backing onto pyes pa road and added congestion. Culling routes, changing the conditions again is only going to add to traffic issues, see students forced to make decisions between their special character school and one nearer (which goes against government promises upon state integration of Catholic schools!!!)- if you want to change the bus system, the only one worth contemplating is returning FREE buses to these Catholic school kids!

Current system seems to work well so why change? The changes will negatively impact not only on the children on the children currently using the system but also on the existing commuters on current routes.

I think that it sent very fair because the govournment is getting money from it and it is helping the community and adds to new Zealand's name so why should school buses go?

I'm very concerned about my three boys aged 9,7 and 5 catching 2 buses to school. Also about them getting off at the Tauranga Library then getting on the correct connecting bus then getting off at Fraser street and crossing three roads to finally get to school! We have caught the Otumoetai bus everyday (twice a day) for years and if this bus change happens we will be another car on the road!

there is a number safely issues over the bus service changes. you are asking some children to change bus three time and cross busy main road some of the bus stops are not in safe areas. some of the kids will not be drop off at a school and are ask to walk two blocks on a busy road. in the tga area we have at this stage a person following kids home. I think we need to put children safely first.

I strongly refute the use of Aquinas school pupils using the Bay Hoppers public buses for their daily commute to and from school on the bases of safety as well as bus stop locations & route of travel. We send our children to a character school and expect to be treated with respect and consideration.

Children living in this country should be entitled to free bus rides to their schools. The ministry of education or the minister of education has created a unfair and unrealistic problem for councils, schools, parents and children. This is not a third world country so why dont they act like it is a country that its people work hard and want to educate their children and pay enough to educate them. Then to have to pay for transport is just another pinching of our hard earned money. But then to steal the buses and create loss of jobs for drivers that care for kids, then expect the children to get on any bus with complete strangers. This is not safe this is not fair and this prooves that N.Z. is going to the dogs. Have a sense of pride in running an efficient education system right down to the safety of the children.

I firmly support keeping the school buses. First you take away the free service & now you're saying stuff the kids altogether. Shame on you!

I would send my children on a school bus, but absolutely not on a public one to school.
