All school children and particularly primary school students should have the right to travel safely to school. Not only is distance a consideration but safety from those undesirables who pray on school age children and are using public transport.

The Tauranga bus service is not always on time. What will be the consequences for the individual student when this is out of their control. Mount Maunganui College students will need to cross two main roads with large volume of traffic including trucks and trains,

My son will have to catch 3 buses to school from Omokoroa to Aquinas college. They will have to allow earlier times to get to school. Doesn't make sense to change what already works for everyone

The school buses must remain the same. If anything, the need to increase the number and volume of buses to accomodate the growing numbers of students in the Bay area.

It appears that due to the increasingly full school rolls that the capacity for students needs to increase with the current existing bus loads. Full schools, full school buses. Simple.

If education is in fact seen as a priority, the school bus service should be considered an essential service, which ensures our children get to school safely and in a timely way.

I like the existing bus route, especially the school bus route, because my son is comfortable with it. The proposed changes may possibly mean that we'll have to drive him to and from school, a bit hassle for a working parent.

The school bus system works well as it is now and should not be changed to make the trips of longer duration.

Strongly against these changes. Children should be on school buses, not on public transport where they may have to change several times.

I like my bus and the bus driver is super nice and there are heaps of friendly people on my bus. I don't like the fact that I would be on the bus with dodgy people and complete strangers. Also my bus stop is right outside my house and it comes at a nice easy time for me. I've also heard that the buses would arrive late at school. Overall it is not making public transport easier it us resulting in making it MUCH harder.

My intermediate age child will have to cross a busy road with no traffic lights or pedestrian crossing to meet the 2nd bus-Not right.

This is unsafe for our children waiting around to catch 2 even 3 busses to school is just wring and not thought out.

An absolute ridiculous idea from the council , yes public transport needs to be seriously looked at in the area but not the school buses.

Without school buses my children couldn't get to school as I'm a single mum who has to work to support my children.
