Save the school buses so to keep our children safe, so not having to change buses and hang around bus shelters waiting for a bus which causes unncessary stress.

School buses keep children safe and make sure they get to school. Young kids are not ready to use public transport, this will make parents drive them to school and back - more traffic!

I will now have to drive as safely concern for bus change. Traffic will make this city become another Auckland because of this decision.

Please save the school bus service. We want our daughter to get to school safely and as quickly as possible daily. If the changes occur my daughter will have a longer trip involving two buses to school. Instead of sitting beside a school student she runs the risk of sitting beside a member of the public. If I drive her to school daily I will increase the traffic congestion on the road. We say NO to the suggested changes and implore you listen to our voices.

As it is our children are often standing up in the aisles to get to intermediate on a bus and you want that number of children to go on a public bus. Not only will the public be mobbed by up to 15 children from 1 bus stop they will struggle to find seats. This is unacceptable! Having adequate seating in a safe bus that goes directly to the school is what we need to strive for.

The proposed bus changes for our daughter to travel from Katkikati to Aquinas College are nothing short of madness. Currently the Aquinas College students from Katikati and surrounding areas, use the Bethleheim College bus service to get as far as Bethlehem College. They then connect with a dedicated school bus that takes them directly to and from Aquinas College, a trip that takes about 15minutes. The proposed changes will have these students connecting with the public bus service from Bethlehem College to Aquinas College that will travel via Brookfield, Cameron Road and Greerton with multiple connections. What are the chances that this route will only take 15 minutes? None really, so there would be no way for these students to get back to Bethlehem College by 3.30pm to make the connection for their return trip home to Katikati in the afternoon. What will be our choices?  Take a public bus from Katikati which leaves at 7:00am and gets them to Tauranga Hospital at 8:00am with another connection at Greeton before getting to school.  Parents take their children to school on an already congested road network, four trips per day.  Drive themselves to school, more than likely on a restricted drivers licence on one on NZ's most dangerous roads.  Hang around in town to connect with the public bus service that leaves Tauranga Hospital at 5:05pm.  Or change schools losing the right to attend a School of Special Character.

This idea is absolutely ridiculous. This is a fast growing community/Country, We need school buses, not for them to be taken away!! There are so many children who need this service. Our kids need to get to school SAFE, and not have to take some public obstacle course to get to school. RIDICULOUS IDEA!!

The proposed bus route for my child to travel from Mt Maunganui to Aquinas College is nothing short of ridiculous. The 1st bus ride is 5 minutes then hang around at Bayfair then take a 2nd bus ride that stops in all the suburbs between Bayfair and Pyes Pa. Your proposal is logistical chaos.

Our Son catches the 313 bus in the morning and the 312 in the afternoon. Both buses are always full. We completely support this petition.

Investment should be made in getting people using buses. this only works if they are go to places where they are needed (including schools), have enough, reliable and accesssible service
