In addition to the CK's popularity, I'm not sure how shutting it down makes sense to the food services department. They lose so much money on the cafe already, with good reason. I don't see how this is a good decision in any way.

The school does realize they should have thought about equipment and utensils before they started the Culinary Arts Program. The CK's should not have to close down just because of lack of planning.

I can't even fathom the rationale behind this possible decision. Something so great and successful that involves hundreds of people will be cut down for less than ten people. I am sure there could be other ways to give them the space they need, without eliminating our cherished CK. CK has been a special glue that makes the students become closer. Through the CK, stomachs were satisfied, students' bills got paid, relationships were built and enhanced, our bosses' (who worked here for more than 10 years) families were sustained, and many memories were relived. CK doesn’t just give lots of options for food; it also provides fast and kind service. It also serves as a home, a family, to many. Please prayerfully weigh the pros and cons, and decide wisely about this situation.

I am an alumni and the CK has many special memories not to mention the wonderful food. Please reconsider so my kids will be able to experience this long Southern icon of fellowship and great food!

I believe CK serves as an opportunity for students to earn money, eat good, and enjoy the company of their peers. It's location is so convenient to gather after intramural games. Perhaps a compromise could be set, since the school was already planning to cut breakfast, maybe the CA program could hold classes during that time. There are many options but I strongly feel, eliminating CK, should not be one.

I am really happy about the culinary arts program- and was considering joining last year- but I don't think shutting down the CK is the right way to go about that. The CK is, as everyone else has said, an important part of campus life, not to mention a lot of people's favorite place to eat. Students losing their CK jobs also concerns me as I work on campus too (at KR's). For students like me don't have the transportation to get to a job in the community, their only source of work during the school year is their on-campus job. I think, overall, this change would certainly upset a lot more people than it would help.

I literally love the CK and consider myself a patron there. The CK not only supplies valuable student jobs, but it also is a place where students can go and eat great food and get a sense of community. The CK is a very convenient food option and I would be more than upset if Southern were to take it away.

I find it interesting that they arn't considering any of the other eateries on Campus. Of all the places to eat on campus, CK's is most likely the place to serve the outside community. CK has a lot more history than any of the other options on campus. Surely there must be some other place to put the culinary arts. With plans to put up the new student center and with the shuffling around of the offices and the cafeteria, can't they simply add on to the student center a culinary art's section?

The CK's has the best food on campus. They are famous especially for their breakfasts. CK's is the only eatery that serves the best quality and quantity of food. Students and the whole community will be devastated
