Save the San Pedro House Cottonwood!

If the San Pedro House is out of reach of falling limbs from the largest tree then everything else can be protected by putting the area under the tree off limits. That iconic tree needs to be saved.

The grandeur of the cottonwood tree which is the centerpiece of the San Pedro House Site should be preserved. It adds character and provides habitat to many species of birds and insects vital to the area. Please preserve.

These trees are indeed iconic. The San Pedro House and area serves as an important teaching site and as such, the big tree should be allowed to die naturally and information should be available to visitors as to the life cycles of trees and plants in the riparian environment.

Please reconsider removing the large cottonwood tree from the SanPedro house. It is an iconic & awesome landmark representing the history of the area. It would establish a precedent for further 'landscaping' in an area that should remain natural. Why not properly fence the area around for safety, and allow the tree to die a natural & dignified death?

If it is safety that BLM is worried about then prune the tree and have visitors, who are amazed by the size of this tree (I know I am), stay at a distance from it but can still admire it. Even use binocular to check it out. I'm a 15 yr home owner in Bisbee.

The Magnificent Cottonwood that we all desperately want to save is now fenced-in. If the fence needs to be more substantial, do it, but please THINK a thousand times before you kill the Grandmother of the San Pedro House.

this stately tree is not a danger to anyone or anything.l do not cut it down. that would be a sacrilege.

If both trees can be safely pruned, by all means prune both. I see no point in cutting down a tree unless it is about to fall in on the visitor center itself. Wayne Viitanen

Please consider the people's voice......The public does NOT want this tree to be cut down. It is historic & has many values for our area.

If the tree can be made safe and keep people off and away, then please do not cut it down. I for one greatly appreciate trees in this area, the tree has been there since my childhood, I am a native Arizonian, and feel cutting down that tree would be a huge loss.

Please allow the large cottonwood tree to remain until it dies naturally. It is so impressive to see, and the fence keeps people from under it. Respectfully, J Ratliff

Please let this old grandma tree die naturally. If it is money that is needed to keep it pruned for safety reason, the public will be more than glad to pay to take care of it until it dies. Do not cut the tree down.

As a local citizen who visits the San Pedro House Site in the San Pedro Riparian National Conservation Area, I ask that the current temporary fence be made permanent to protect visitors and the large Cottonwood tree and that only pruning be necessary.

The San Pedro House cottonwoods are truly treasures of Cochise County and must be saved. The current fencing around the one protects both visitors and the magnificent tree; it is a solution that should be seen as a way to preserve a piece of the past for all of us to appreciate now as well as keeping it in place for future enjoyment.

Sounds like there are other options. Please let this tree be.

Do not cut down our tree !

Why do we always try to mess with things that r so precious to our wonderful city. Let's work on the other matters that r plaguing our city. Don't hurt our precious tree.

Please use your powerful position as a guardian of public lands and prune this beautiful, iconic tree instead of taking the life out it!
