To cut this tree down would be a travesty. It is the heart and soul of that place. There are many ways to protect it, and the humans who visit it, without killing it. Sometimes you must go beyond the practical,and dig deep within the spiritual, to see the right road. Listen to the people, listen to the animals, but most important listen to this majestic tree. She is not ready to die. Let nature take it's course. Do not interfere.

It would be a shame to end the life span of such a beautiful , large tree. lets not be jealous that it lives much longer than we, but simply enjoy its presence and marvel how it grew there . Please let it be!

That tree is bigger than life and represents not only the entire San Pedro River and the efforts to preserve the ecosystem, it is the icon for the entire area! I understand the pubic safety concern and potential litigation, but there MUST be a better way to handle this concern.
