Students and faculty have so much additional work and stress having to work remotely. They need all the support they can get so that they can continue meeting their professional responsibilities while caring for their children. Taking this center away will disrupt their lives and cause even more distress since there are no other child care options in the area.

This is truly the best place I have ever worked at ! Such a warm family oriented place, I couldn’t ask for a better Director and assistant Director ! My child who is now 18 years old still talks about how much he loved coming here on “ bring your child to work day!

My eldest son attended here while I completed my studies. I felt comfortable knowing he was so close and could check on him if needed. The teachers were great and he loved attending. I would hate to have this taken from future staff or students. Offering this option makes it stand out versus other community colleges.

Our experience with the Children’s Campus was overwhelmingly positive. Our daughter was happy, engaged, safe and actively learning while attending preschool. She loved her teachers! She made friends with whom she is still in touch. She was well prepared for kindergarten and transitioned easily. Please keep this valuable community resource open!!!

The Children Campus has been very helpful to me and my family, we are parents of three children, Ariana, Natalie and Leonardo, all three of whom have attended the center and they have welcomed us as a family, the staff is always willing to help us in everything.
Hearing that the children campus was going to close was very sad all the plans changed and I will not be able to look for a job or attend school, because I will have to stay at home taking care of my three children.Please reconsider the option of not closing the childcare Thanks for your time and have a great day.

The children’s campus is so close and dear to my heart. I had the privilege to work there for several years and had the opportunity to have my own son learn from the amazing educators. Losing the children’s campus would be tragic to the community and RVCC. It provides comfort to professors and students while on campus knowing their children are safe and learning

As stated in RVCC Mission Statement: the college is “nationally recognized for its educational excellence, innovative programming, dedicated service to the community, and environmental leadership. The diversity found on our campus enriches us all, and the educational opportunities we offer extend far beyond the classroom.”
Without this child care center cannot promise the excellence, innovation, service to the community, diversity, and educational opportunities listed.
As we heal and return to a new normal after the pandemic, child care is going to be a massive need. Before Covid-19, there were no where near enough spaces for children in New Jersey throughout the more than 3,000 centers, thousands of registered family providers, and public preschools.
We all know that child care centers are not a financially stable business model. But -
The demand for child care is going to grow exponentially. RVCC could serve, more than ever, as a community leader as it sets an example by maintaining its on campus child care. It also might find it a wise business decision.
The Children’s Campus makes it possible for low-income parents and people of color to work, get a top notch local college education, and provide incredible care and learning for their children. The college’s claims of committing to diversity, equity and inclusion need a rewrite. This is going to have the reverse effect and the college will want to consider other, possibly more challenging innovations to make this diversity claim. We must save the Children's Campus!
