If they feel the need to make a change then leave the Raiders name. I'm sorry but I will always call myself a Rutland Red Raider

Keep our name and logo. It seems the big thing they want in the Native American class which I’m fine with, and recognition before game which is unreasonable along with the name Change.

This is a tradition that we grew up with and has never been considered racist. Please stop seeing racism in every aspect of American life.Rutland High School chose the name to show how strong and tough our football team was, or tried to be . How is that wrong?

I grew up in Rutland although I went to MSJ, when ever the Rutland Raiders were mentioned it was a name of respect for their team. None of us ever thought of it being racist!

The Rutland High School's mascot name and image was already changed from Red Raiders to just Raiders, and the warrior in a feathered headdress image was completely removed and replaced with the arrow head. The colors were changed from Red & White to adding in black. I still don't know if the school colors are now black & red, or black, red & white. Having worked in graphic communications for decades, the cost to re-brand the school mascot, create a new logo and roll it through all the school's documents, team uniforms, signage, web sites, and correspondences, will be expensive and drain valuable school funding at a very critical time when the school is desperately trying to bring students and teachers safely back to classes. How about we focus on getting kids back to school?
