People aren't thinking about how having that name should give a sports team strength and power and they should be a Warrior to go out and play a good game and stop thinking that everything offends them just because they don't like it.

I attended MSJ in the 70's. I relished in the rilavarly between two great schools in my beloved hometown. When a school chooses a mascot and/or team name, it is something complementary to the said name, be it an animal, person, or any entity. Bernie, the Raider Indian, was certainly proud to be a representative of his ancesters! Please quell this ridiculousness!

You can change the mascot and drop the red and just go with Rutland Raiders .
Maybe use a pirate as the new mascot .
Better yet leave it as is
