Save the name and change the arrowhead. Have a contest for the kids to design the logo and mascot. We raised American indians. They didn't raid us.

Just curious. Why is being named something offensive. Isn’t it an honor? I mean TG Rey are saying we have pride, are tough, strong, winners and nothing to be messed with. How is that offensive to anyone other then someone who just likes to make an issue out of it because stupid people allow it to happen. Things like this should have to be voted upon by either the residents of the city or alumni and attendees.
And if being named after someone or something is bad, why do we name every building, bridge etc after people? Exactly it’s a good thing now stop it people you’re ruining more then your feeling keeping it!!

Keep the Raider name and Raider pride in this community. Just because 1 or 2 “chronically offended” people want to appear “woke” and cancel our culture. I can guarantee that 99% of the people supporting the name change are just following the very few because they are afraid of being called a racist. There is NOTHING racial behind the name. I’m Blackfoot on my father’s side and Penobscot on my mother’s side. We should NOT remove Native American references from our culture. It’s a part of our history!

I've lived in Rutland for 28yrs, graduated from RHS. Being a Raider was about pride not embarrassment!
