As part of a sports club, we use the university gym for many games and it would be a shame to see it get destroyed

I used to walk 30 minutes to uni daily from home and back again. I would catch the bus or carpool to get to my part time job on time. All this was done in heat, cold, sunny and rainy days. I wouldn't have changed a thing.

The University had plenty of years to solve the parking problem, and that would be to reduce cars rather than increase spaces. Now the problem got much worse, but the solution should still be the same!

it’s a pity and a disgrace of using such a place.

Keep the last few open spaces in University free of cars! This space is used by many as an area to promote physical activity, which in a country full of obesity-related health problems is a must! I am appalled that our University (which should be the Centre of learning) chooses to promote car dependency rather than physical activity! When will we learn? Or perhaps are we only interested in certificates rather than actual life skills?...

Rather than attempting to promote either alternative routes or methods of transport, UoM bends over backwards and allows this to happen. It's a joke.

And please this does not mean that the few green areas around should be turned into car parks instead... The current works around ring road are already worrying - no more open or green spaces should be taken up.
