Stop promoting the use of cars! Its shocking that this is happening - if there is no space for parking maybe more people would make an alternative plan, but NOOO take away another open area that people may enjoy to park a blood car.

This is a big step back in an already lazy society! I’m highly dissapointed by this.

We need car free zones, open spaces and alternative transport options which are healthy and sustainable and not more car parks!

Find an alternative option, turning a track into a carpark isn't an option.

It's disgraceful that the University is sacrificing a vital sports facility for the sake of creating more parking spaces. Students should adapt to the reality of the situation.

In the short and until the new car park is built students should take public transport, bike or cycle and even walking there would do them some good.

Given that govt is encouraging bus use, with free buses for students this was an ideal time to disincentivise car use at university. We only have 3 running tracks (1 is out of commission) but every other scrap of public space is stolen for parking.

We get so much more out of a running track than a stupid parking lot

No need for comments. Parking areas are for parking leisure areas are for leisure...

Pragmatic as it may be this is a wrong decision. It sends a totally wrong message as to where we should be aiming to get.

Parking cars at the pitch is direspectful to the men and women who go there to train and getaway from the cars in everyday life.

The University should set the example and encourage its students to shift to alternative means of transport. Considering the average age of university students to be less than 30, one cannot understand how these students have to use their private car to go to University. The bright minds of tomorrow need some illumination.
