Save The Roy Vue

I agree with Anonymous: Converting these apartments to micro-housing would be a disservice to current residents and the character of the neighborhood. I grew up on Capitol Hill in the 1950s and spent time their in my youth in the 1970s. Fine old apartment buildings like this give the neighborhood its character. Don't let this special environment fall victim to the current wave of re-development. The Roy Vue's garden makes it of special value to the city. The Roy Vue should be preserved.

I’m all for density, but I’m also for preserving significant architectural landmarks. Substantially upzone the density around all light rail stations. Currently, it’s not enough. Preserve beautiful old buildings. They can never be replaced. If the Roy Vue was within a block or two of capital hill station, I may feel different. But it’s not and I don’t. Vertical sprawl is sucking the life out of Seattle.

Stop tearing down solid, beautiful old architecture that has style and grace for boring cardboard boxes that will short term house people that don’t care.

Please keep the cool Seattle cool. Stop overcrowding us now!!

This is the last straw. Obviously current regulations need to be addressed to prevent this kind of tragedy.

Destroying multi-person units to create more single-person units? That’s not creating density, that’s creating more cash for the owner. Nope nope nope.

Stop destroying the character of Seattle, please!

When this boom ends like all booms do, this city will mourn what it's lost, and what it allowed building owners and developers to do in the name of making their wallets a little fatter.

These buildings and spaces are part of what makes Seattle such a great place! Keep our city green!

I only just recently self-discovered the beauty that is Roy Vue's courtyard while walking down Bellevue Ave. It would be a shame to see the grounds of the complex destroyed for the new building. Although I have no problem with renovating the current building, I am against the removal of the grounds and the building of a new building.

Let's save somethings that make seattle unique. Something that gives it flavor and texture!

I think it's a shame to make micro apartments aot of these beautiful apartments.

Please don’t let Seattle further degrade its history and soul.

I am tired of watching the city I love disappearing before my eyes! Historic buildings deserve to be protected and cherished.

Save the royvue!

There is absolutely no excuse for this. The building is gorgeous and in fabulous shape. Give it landmark status, and (fergawdsake) preserve what little is gonna be left of old Seattle's soul.
