This was my dream apartment building when I first moved to Seattle. The waitlist was long, and only a 1 bed opened up, but the building is beautiful and should be preserved as built.

Please do not tear down this building, it is an integral part of the character of Capitol Hill. Replacing it with unaffordable microhousing units will further strip away the character and affordability of Capitol Hill, and cause this neighborhood to continue its descent into an expensive and sterile place that’s only affordable to the 1%.

Destruction of the Royvue would be a disgrace! It is one of the last vestiges of our historic Seattle, that lends character to out town. Destruction of our historic buildings IS NOT the answer to affordable housing.

This place is a staple in our community. A gathering space for friends and family and a place where memories are made, thanks to well kept common areas and livable size units. It’s a tragedy to take that away.

We've lived at the Roy View for more than 12 years. The courtyard is one of the most unique things on capitol hill... you'll never find another apartment building anywhere in Seattle that is quite the same. It is one of the biggest assets the building has and it would be a shame to get rid of it.
I agree with others. There are places for microhousing on and around the hill, but this building is not a good candidate for it.

I am heartsick at this news. I resided here for nearly nine years in one of the most beautiful apartments it was ever my experience to live in.
I believe it is a Landmark and should be considered as much. It may be the only way Seattle's architectural history can be protected from insensitive developers.
I send everyone there my best wishes and hope they can prevail against the rape of their fine building.

The Rouvue has a special place in my heart. I spent many evenings visiting friends who loved there and hoped to love there myself before I left Capitol Hill for Columbia City. The Architecture, garden and incredible apartments are far too special to be destroyed. Save the Royvue!!!

The Roy Vur is one of the few remaining classic apartment buildings on this street. Long a community of affordable residents, it's presence on the street is critical, facade alone doesn't do it. Save this essential Seattle landmark.

The willful destruction of the Roy Vue is unconscionable in a city that has already lost so much of its cultural and architectural heritage to the flash and so-called "innovation" of the booming tech industry. In a city where housing prices have skyrocketed as Amazon and Microsoft have dominated the economy, preserving quality, accessible, and comparatively affordable housing should be one of our top priorities. To be able to do so while facilitating the preservation of an iconic piece of our built environment and Capitol Hill history is a privilege, and it should not be disposed of and consigned to the dustbin in favor of sleek modernism and unbridled capitalism.
