This is an amazing building. It is beautiful, functional, and rich in culture. Not only this, but because it is old, it offers some excellent sound dampening effects from the highway. This is something new construction will never offer, to the detriment of the neighborhood. New construction materials are light, inexpensive and while modern, are not dense enough to help in moderating noise pollution at all. This is one of several important things this large and well made building gives us.
