The Roy Vue is a piece of art, in a city that is ever-renovating at an extreme speed and losing it's history even faster. I love Seattle's architectural history, and this building absolutely qualifies for landmark status. Microunits do not create affordable housing!

Development is part of a thriving and evolving city. However, it must be balanced with the preservation of character, housing options, and green space. Where there is green space now, that green space must be preserved. It is non-negotiable. Be a better city, Seattle.

It is a shame to see the beautiful old homes and apartment buildings being destroyed and ugly uniform three story townhouses built up. Please don’t Ballardize the rest of the city.

I’m a Seattle native and I think it’s a travesty to change or alter these gorgeous, historic buildings. Stop micro sizing Seattle just to squeeze in more apartments!

This is classic Seattle. I loved living here! Why can't we keep icons of Seattle and not have the cheap, new, POS buildings being built IN SEATTLE. Tear down a time of real craftsmen? A time when people took pride in producing beautiful, quality work? Replace with a disposable, shoddy "anywhere USA" crap?! I think not. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE! History of our home is important and I for one would much prefer a beautiful, craftsman home than what money hungry, money grubbers are producing now; as fast as they can before they are caught! WHO IS RUNNING SEATTLE?

Please try to find another way to develop the building. Turning it down won´t help to preserve what currently the neighborhood is offering as appealing to residents and newcomers.

Preservation of historic buildings like the Roy-Vue is not only essential to the vitality and diversity of the city but also makes economic sense. The proposed replacement is an ill-conceived, short-sighted abomination that will detract from the very character that draws people to neighborhoods like Capitol Hill in the first place.

I remember urban, "renewal," and its destruction of the intrinsic soul of cities across this country. DON'T let this happen to our Seattle....... protect the Roy Vue....! It is a marker of our city's fabric and way of life which cannot be replaced.
