Yellowknife wouldn't be Yellowknife without this Iconic Landmark. Think of how many lives have been saved of people disorientated on the land, on the lake or flying in the sky -that used the Orange headframe as a beacon to find their way back to Yellowknife. Save the Headframe!

When my son was 13 or 14, he wandered away from Caribou Carnival into the bush with a friend who couldn't keep up to him. He got lost, but used the Robertson Headframe to find his way back to the city.

Must be saved for historical, logistical and safety reasons. There is going to be City recreational facilities in the area shortly; the City can combine the building with that; lease it out; you name it! But it has to be saved first!

If the gold mine had not been built, there would be no Yellowknife. Its bad enought that they removed the gold mining exhibit from the museum, lets not add to it.

Once you remove the cost of demolition, and approach it as a long term landmark, the known costs are very reasonable. I would like to see it saved and turned into an example of how we can save our history, not knock it over.

Lay off about 4 bylaw officers. they all make 100,000 plus a year.Total savings would probably be 500,000 more than enough to save headframe many times over
