This beautiful iconic Swansea pub and community hub has been allowed to close and fall into disrepair by the tenants, the brewery and not least Swansea council.

Surely the council remit is to manage areas, with the locals best interests, at heart. This building can only be a pub. Anything else would degrade the area. Now that the Cricketers has been turned into flats, the RHYDDINGS was the only pub left in an area of several square miles of households who after working hard would like to unwind with like minded folk in their local pub.

This for me is basic local community management. Something our council has been guilty of neglecting for years.

The Rhyddings is not only a pub, but a place where you can go if you're lonely, to take your old ones for Sunday dinner, to meet trades people if you needed work done, if you needed help at all. It was more like a community centre with beer.

Please sign our petition so we can get over these difficult couple of years together
