Please do NOT close the equestrian center. It provides a character and warmth that is unmatched in many Austin communities.

There is nothing more pleasing than to watch horses at work and play. This site is just beautiful and would be a sin to have it go away.

Hopefully the developer/builder will not want to be sued for Bait & Switch (which, back in the day, was illegal). Surely he would not want this legacy. Hoping everything works out for such a nice neighborhood!

As close neighbors to the Reserve, we have always felt that they done a great job of making a beautiful development. We are not happy to hear that there could changes but the main objections we have are the impact that the additional multi family units will have on our water supply and the additional traffic on Thurman Bend Road. This will affect all of us in the area.

I am considering moving to that development specifically because of the equestrian facilities.
This feature of the community is the most important thing to me. Horses are therapudic and have importance, just as hiking trails and biking. It's also an amazing for children growing up to have a horse, teaches care and responsibility. A learned skill that provides exercise. Nothing can really replace a love for a horse!

My wife and I have frequently discussed how we appreciate the way the Reserve has been developed. The lots are spacious and the construction works well with the existing landscape. This is in contrast to most other developments in this area, and sets the Reserve apart as a community that is being developed thoughtfully, and with consideration to the land and the environment. Building 20+ cottages where the equestrian center is now located will destroy the uniqueness that the Reserve currently has in our community.

Our son has been riding at the equestrian center for 3 years and we are all disappointed by this proposal. Over the years we have discussed purchasing property in the area, mainly because of the equestrian center. Removing the equestrian center greatly reduces the appeal.

My son Robert who suffers from autism started riding at the Reserve with Kelly and her horse Twinky. We previously lived in Manhattan and there he took lessons at a small indoor stable. His experience at the Reserve has been life changing for our family. He lives the Texas experience every Saturday at 10:00 am and so do my husband and I as we walk around the ranch. I am a native Austinite, and seeing all the changes in my city is bittersweet. I grew up hearing the name Mc Combs in passing wondering what it must be like growing up in such a prominent family. All I ask is for you to consider the concept of profit over people, Closing the equestrian center will change everyone's lives that have been touched by the magic you created. Perhaps you didnt know that children like my son are improving their lives because of this. The Reserve just seemed special, then the other developments in the area. Taking away the enchantment will also take away that title.

Equestrian centers are a benefit to all, including those who are not equestrians, but appreciate a natural setting in which to live. Closing the Center would be bowing to developers of overpopulated cookie cutter tracts, muscling out those who appreciate animals and nature, and thereby squelching property values.

After waiting my whole life to finally get a horse, that dream came true a few years ago and our horse has been at the reserve since we got him. We have since joined the pool Bc we like coming to the reserve so much. It is quite unique. Now it will be like every other high dollar neighborhood and Austin surely has enough of those.

This would be a TERRIBLE loss. Imagine explaining to all those families and children, including my own, who are SO excited to use this incredible facility, that it will be no longer there :(

We thought the equestrian center was such a unique facility when we visited the property. It seems inane to replace such a valuable assist with a repetitive commodity. Have they even thought about their demographic?

The equestrian center is a big draw for the Reserve at Lake Travis. Getting rid of it would greatly diminish the Reserve's attractiveness.
