Madness to lose this ph with a skittle alley which was used by many people and was a viable business. I personally feel that it is not a good location for flats, we have enough new properties be good built in Theale.

Please save this iconic pub, and shuttle alley, and allow it to be returned to a community meeting and socialising spot rather than yet another converted building in an already over populated village.

i was very sad when the Red Lion closed as it was one of the first pubs I visited when I came to live in Theale and I have always thought it was the best pub in the village.

More housing needs more meeting places and the res lion is a unique meeting g place with its own character. The people of Theale want to keep this public house alive. SAVE THE RED LION

It would be a shame to loose a lovely pub and the skittle alley,

Any attempt to build on this land is a tragedy. The pub and skittle alley are a major facility for all residents, from the very young to the elderly and infirm, all have used its facilities at some stage or another. This is just another example on how the village way of life in Theale is being eroded just so property developers can make money a others expense. Keep Theale for the people of Theale.

Leave this lovely building alone, it has been part of the heart of Theale for years. Offers a great meeting venue like no other public house in the village.

I'm disgusted this pub is even shut, let alone close to being knocked down and made into flats. Theale is over crowded anyway, but pubs like the red lion should never be closed. It's a part of the image of the village. This MUST remain open

It would be a huge blow to the village of Theale if this pub were to be knocked down. It offers something very different to the other existing pub's in Theale. The only reason it is shut is because the previous occupants ran it very poorly. Under the right management and direction this pub could become a focal point once more of the village and with its skittle alley and unique lay out - it can become a rousing success and in-keeping with the village tradition of Theale

the red lion was the 1st pub I drank in and years later worked there as a barman for many years I was also there on the last night before it closed its doors it was quite obvious it was never going to be reopened as a pub as all the locals was told to help themselves to any fixtures. it was so sad to see the place stripped. as the ex landlord of the lamb I don't want the red lion to be built on as he did at the lamb we need to keep it the way it was

Leave Theale history alone ... it's a great village I can't understand why people who don't live here want to interfere and change things .

Leave the red lion Alone and bring back the pub!!! Theale has lost so much of its character with west Berks building on ever spare bit of land it can find. It was the best pub in Theale - we don't need/want any more flats!!!
