Lovely, warm welcoming public house. Theale needs this public house reinstated.

The character of Theale village will be eroded further by the loss of the Red Lion. We must do everything we can to preserve the character of the village and discourage greedy developers who are only motivated by their own profit.

As one of the last remaining 9 pin bowling alleys, I feel this pub has significant historical value and should not be turned into flats.

Save the red lion! Theale will need to change its name soon with all the old inns going (the ale). And need no further housing as local amenities can't cope with the amount of residents as it is

If the pub can't be reinstated then at least build an attractive looking property on the site in keeping with the village ideals. A block of flats is not suitable as the amenities in theale can't cope as they are!

I believe it would ruin the view of the high street conservation area with new building being built that are not Inkeeping with the local buildings and their heritage.

This is a much missed asset of Theale. More flats are not required. With the already planned increase in village size (Lakeside etc.) Theale needs to keep this infrastructure to accommodate the already approved plans for new homes.
In addition to this, Ikea will generate additional custom for the village amenities .

I love this quaint pub. How many pubs these days have a skittles alley? Please keep the village pubs after all that is how Theale got it's name.

The last thing theale needs at the moment is more development .
We are supposed to be a village at this rate we will be as big as thatcham and some other towns, something the villagers of theale don't want.
