Lovely little pub and the skittle alley was a great favourite, not only with villagers, but also with the residents of the outlying and surrounding villages. A skittles league does wonders for community spirit and social cohesion. This is an historic village tradition that would be a crying shame to permanently lose. Candy Clarkson.

Do not let money makers remove our Theale history and community. I moved here for the community spirit, if you let people build over the public spaces for profit and with no sympathy to the incumbent Theale residents, it will become a lonely place. Keep our history alive and cherished!

We don't want to loose another asset in the community. The Lamb was already lost a few years ago.

This pub was a great social asset to the village. The old buildings should be preserved as they are.

We chose to move to Theale for the community spirit we felt on our first visit 6 years ago. Since then we have seen every little bit of space build on and beautiful buildings demolished to make space for new ugly structures. Theale needs to maintain it's history and community togetherness and not let developers remove this precious environment to line their own pockets with no care for the residents of Theale.

The Red Lion is an asset we must not loose. It has served the locals and the much wider community for many years and should continue to do so.

CAMRA are still very interested in help save this pub and we have experience of ACVs having just gained one for The Red Cow in Caversham and others within out branch area. Please let us know how we can help. Best wishes.
