The number of trucks on the R399 is shocking and a real risk to other road users, the road surface is worn out at several areas and potholes is appearing fast. The authorities have to make means to limit the number of trucks on this route

Vir ons almal se veiligheid moet die trokke verwyder word van die Piketberg- Veldrifpad. Sondag het ek seker meer as 40 van hulle gekry, op 'n Sondag! En hulle ry so onverskillig. Voel niks vir ander pad verbruikers nie.

I stay in Laaiplek and working in Langebaan.
This morning on my way out of Velddrif four trucks came into town al with containers. They trucks going to Saldanha steel almost had me in an accident recently while travelling on the R27 towards Langebaan. The one was so close to my car I couldnt see his number plate. That particular morning I overtook the first of three trucks and landed between the two in front. When I wanted to overtake the third truck the first one from behind overtook the two trucks and me in between. It could have been fatal the way the take chances. Also our bridge coming into Velddrif and our town as a whole has way too much traffic as trucks. Surely the trucks from Saldanha can drive straight onto Hopefield and the to Piketberg. We will have to get a weigh bridge and officers to inspect the trucks. The traffic is too heavy for the bridge and our roads. Heavy in like heavy. Our town should not be a passing through way.

It's about time that they are stopped
